Equine Assisted Coaching (or Equine- Assisted Learning) is an experiential learning opportunity partnering with horses to improve one’s own self-awareness and discover their strengths. A horse’s heart rate is half of a human's so their energy level is much lower than ours, just being in their presence can lower stress. They are prey animals and live in the moment. They may experience fear but unlike us, do not obsess and stay anxious. They process and come back to the present. Through this experiential partnership with horses, the goal is to develop mindfulness and self-awareness, learning life skills including personal growth and ways to effectively deal with the challenges in daily life. This experience does not require horsemanship skills or riding. It just involves a horse and a facilitator or team that helps with whatever unfolds during the process in a confidential and judgment free setting. Come experience what a horse is “saying” and all they can teach through their calm wisdom.

Yes. Barb has worked with many people that prefer to do the sessions with their own horses. Barb and her clients have seen great successes with this, especially with people that may have had riding accidents or past traumas with their horses. This work has healed those wounds and helps cultivate a deeper sense of trust between a horse and their owner.
Absolutely not! All this work is done on the ground. This is not a riding activity. You do not have to have experience with horses to be a part of these programs. All levels of interests and experience are welcome.

The time that your coaching process will take depends on the complexity of your goals and your commitment and openness to your process. However, the horse's biofeedback usually elicits and allows for immediate results to process internally.
